Ground-breaking in Kladno (Czech Republic)

The high point of the celebrations was the age-old Czech tradition of "hammering the foundation stone". KAM Manager, Ludwig Geißinger, Giovanni Leonardi (CEO Alpiq), Swiss ambassador to the Czech Republic, the Mayor of Kladno and the Managing Director of the Czech company Alpiq Generation all reached for the hammer.

On completion, the new K7 power plant unit in Kladno will generate up to 135 MW of electrical power. At the same time, it will be able to deliver up to 105 MW of district heating to municipal network operators.

KAM is partnered by Kraftanlagen Power Plants GmbH (KAP), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kraftanlagen München GmbH, and Alpiq Generation CZ, a subsidiary of Alpiq AG. The turnkey handover of the new power plant unit is planned for 31 December 2013.

Kladno K7 is the biggest commission to date in the history of Kraftanlagen München as general contractor.
