New waste incineration plant "Forsthaus" in Bern

ewb (Energie Wasser Bern) is building a new plant for the thermal recycling of residential waste

in Bern. It is designed for an annual volume of 110,000 tons of waste.

 

A biomass furnace with an output of 27 MW and a gas turbine and heat recovery steam generator with an electrical output of 45 MW and a thermal output of 57 MW are to be built at the same time.



Customer

ewb awarded Kraftanlagen München the contract for implementation of energy system 3, the "Energy and district heat control center".


Scope of supply and services

The contract includes the engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the entire energy system.

 

This basically comprises:

- 2 steam turbines (electrical outputs

  of 15 MW and 27 MW)

- Air condensation plants

- Piping and components

  of the water/steam cycle

- Cooling water system

- District heat extraction

  (max. 120 MW)
